Bear Lake Preserve

The Bear Lake Reserve is a perfect example of a land protection partnership. In 2012, a private landowner decided his lake shore property would be better as natural habitat than new vacation homes. He wanted those protections to endure, so he approached the Bear River Land Conservancy and, together, we created a conservation easement that protects natural habitat and open space.

This property is not open to public access, but the habitat and open space values it protects enrich the public, and those values will be protected forever.
