History made: Cache County approves first-ever Open Space Bond project

Updated: 6 hours ago

We are so proud to announce that the Cache County Council has approved our request to fund the Elkhorn Ranch project! This is the first project to be funded from the Open Space Bond which realizes the dreams of local conservationists from over 30 years ago. Our staff was able to negotiate with the council to set many important precedents which will lay the groundwork for future projects.

Our work is not done on this project yet; we still need to raise additional project funding. Virtually none of our projects are funded from just one source, so we are applying for funding from the state of Utah and are hopeful that this project will be completed soon. Stay tuned!

The Herald Journal wrote an article, which you can read here:

Our mission is to preserve the benefits of land and water in Northern Utah and the Bear River Watershed for present and future generations. We do this by partnering with communities and landowners to permanently sustain the heritage of working lands and protect natural areas.

Let's stay connected.
