Every once in a while, we love to showcase the land we have conserved. This upcoming Wednesday, we will be hosting an open house at our Mendon Meadow Preserve.
Wednesday, August 14, 20244:30-7 pm
1850 South 5400 West Mendon, Utah 84325
All-ages, Free, no RSVP required
We will be celebrating the Ute-Ladies' Tresses as well as our recently planted pollinator habitat garden. Please come and see this special place and help us count these special flowers.
The property is not wheelchair friendly because it is a wetland pasture. Bring good shoes, and a camera: the sunset over the Wellsville mountains from this property is spectacular!
This preserve is special because it houses a critical population of Ute-Ladies' Tresses, a formerly endangered species of orchid. The species was de-listed in part because of our citizen science efforts at this property over the last decade. Each year, volunteers painstakingly count every flowering plant so we can track their numbers year-over-year and learn more about this delicate and incredibly sensitive plant.
